Summary

Details are given of the design of a new laboratory-scale aerodynamic device for cooling and moving grain. The device has a 3-channel duct of trapezoidal cross-section, 3 sides of which have lamellar grids. This design has the advantage of moving grain with smaller filtration rate and air pressure (thus reducing the probability of damage), and also of ventilating the grain by feeding air into the side channels which have grids of larger section than the central channel. Details are given of trials on wheat at various temperatures.
