Summary

THE AUTHORS HAVE UNDERTAKEN A SERIES OF EXPERIMENTAL STUDIES TO MEASURE THE TEMPERATURE AND AIR SPEED IN A CELL REPRESENTATIVE OF AN OCCUPIED SPACE. THE RESULTS ARE PRESENTED FOR A CONFIGURATION CORRESPONDING TO ONE HOT SURFACE, THE OTHER FIVE BEING AT A NEARLY CONSTANT TEMPERATURE,CONTINUALLY MEASURED. THE THERMAL PROFILES IN THE VICINITY OF THE ACTIVE WALL MADE IT POSSIBLE TO CALCULATE THE HEAT TRANSFER BY CONVECTION AT THE SURFACE. THE DYNAMIC PROFILES GAVE INDICATIONS OF THE NATURE OF THE FLOW WHICH IS MORE OR LESS OF A LAMINAR TYPE. AN INITIAL VERIFICATION OF THE SIMILARITY BETWEEN THE RESULTS OBTAINED RESPECTIVELY WITH THE CELL AND WITH A SCALE MODEL FILLED WITH R12B1 WAS MADE. FINALLY, THE THREE-DIMENSIONAL EFFECT OF THE FLOWS WAS UNDERLINED.
