Summary

In France, sales of appliances capable of providing heating and air conditioning are rising every year. Sales of individual air-conditioning units have reached a level of 164,000. These units had a market share of total air-conditioning units of 35% in 1994, 38% in 1996 and represented 51% of sales of individual air-conditioning units in 1997 (about 43% of which were reversible). The remaining 8% were appliances fitted with an electric resistance.
