Summary

Various software exist today for calculating nominal air-conditioning loads used for plant sizing. Few of them allow an assessment in energy consumption. The method consisting in estimating the number of hours at a nominal power is valid for obtaining a rough estimate but the ratios used that are determined by experience are only valid for one sector and at a given time. Moreover, they allow no comparison, nor parameter setting. A method of calculation is proposed that is simple enough to be programmed on a spread-sheet which is applicable to most systems. This method is part of the new AICVF guide for the prediction of consumption.
