Air conditioning principles for appropriate human comfort and new development in refrigeration systems.

Author(s) : NOVAK P.

Summary

The basics of heat transfer in humans and the possibilities for establishing a thermal balance under various conditions are presented. The possibilities for external and internal cooling or cooling with clothing as the boundary layer are analyzed. Special attention is paid to the removal of moisture and the related structure of the clothing material. An overview of the possible technological procedures for cooling is given, with data on their efficiency. Since the supply of energy to drive mobile cooling devices is very important, the author also presents a review of the current development of fuel cells and batteries suitable for mobile cooling systems.
