Summary

The Fukuoka Dome was constructed as a multi-purpose facility along the lines of the Tokyo Dome, the largest in Japan, which is mainly used for baseball games. A system was developed for environmental prediction, and the prediction of natural ventilation and daylighting effects, at the opening of the roof, and for air conditioning, at the closing of the roof. These effects are verified and measured by numerical analysis and modelling experiments.
