Summary

The article describes dew point cooling (also known as desert cooling) supplementary to, or as an alternative for, air conditioning systems. This system is already used in warm and dry areas but its use is new in temperate climates like the Netherlands. The FairCooler, especially developed for this climate, uses water as the refrigerant and its energy consumption is 80% lower than a standard air conditioning system. It can also be used in combination with normal air conditioning with a reduction in energy consumption of 55-70%. Synthetic material is used for almost the entire cooler to prevent corrosion.
