Summary
The paper briefly discusses the issues affecting the spread of evaporative cooling. Maintenance requirements are discussed and recommendations are presented. Duct design principles to ensure good air distribution are presented. The paper follows with brief comments on how to design a house to minimise overall heating and cooling energy consumption, when the cooling is provided by evaporative cooling. Future opportunities for evaporative cooling are discussed. A number of potential research topics are suggested.
