THE ARTICLE RECORDS THE RESULTS OF TESTS CONDUCTED ON 45 FLIGHTS OF IDENTICAL AIRCRAFT BELONGING TO ONE AIRLINE, ALL NON-SMOKING. FRESH AIR PER PASSENGER WAS VERY LOW, EVEN AT LOW OCCUPANCY. CARBON DIOXIDE PRESENCE WAS HIGH, ALTHOUGH NOT LINKED DIRECTLY TO THE FRESH AIR RATE. PARTICULATE LEVELS WERE ABOVE THOSE ACCEPTED FOR COMFORT AND HUMIDITY TENDED TO BE LOW.
