Summary

THE CONVENTIONAL TEV EXPANSION VALVE IS A PROPORTIONAL CONTROL AND HAS LIMITED POTENTIALITIES, WHICH WILL BE DETAILED. THE IEV ELECTRONIC EXPANSION VALVE INCLUDES IN ADDITION AN INTEGRAL CONTROL WITH AN ELECTRONIC MOTOR AND ELECTRIC PROBE. ITS RESPONSE IS QUICKER AND IT MAKES IT POSSIBLE TO WORK AT A LOWER CONDENSATION TEMPERATURE, AND THEREFORE WITH LOWER POWER CONSUMPTION. THE CONSUMPTIONS ARE COMPARED, BY CALCULATION, FOR TEV AND IEV, THE ENERGY SAVED MAY BE 10 TO 25%. J.L.
