Summary
The object of a learned society is to increase the pool of knowledge within its profession, and improve the standards of its members. It must be aware of all other efforts in this direction. Academic courses teach fundamentals and so the profession must specialise more in its training. The number of subjects is here reduced to a proposed 15 topics to be assessed at three levels, and would merit formal accreditation. A.R.T.
