An air conditioning control system using variable-speed water pumps.
Author(s) : GREEN R. H.
Summary
A new hydronic circuit is proposed for central air conditioning plants, which achieves control of zone temperatures by the use of a variable-speed pump at each terminal unit. No control valves are used. The system has been tested on a laboratory scale and performed well and the results are presented. The system offers advantages of ease of design and ease of commissioning over current designs but requires developmental work on small speed-controlled pumps to become a viable alternative.
