Summary
The paper evaluates the current control procedures for variable speed pumps when applied to HVAC water systems. This evaluation includes: 1) water system head analysis; 2) procedures for controlling pump speed; and 3) the determination of the correct number of pumps that should be in operation on multiple-pump installations.
