Summary
An analytical study has been made of the critical heat flux of a two-phase thermosiphon, in which liquid and vapour form a countercurrent annular flow under two conditions: first, the critical heat flux takes place when the liquid supplied into the thermosiphon is just equal to the evaporation of the liquid due to the heat input; second, the thickness of the liquid flow is determined such that the interface remains stable.
