Summary

This study adopts a direct experimental approach for determining irregular shaped pore distribution analysis of adsorbent material using Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) operated in tapping mode. AFM is used to obtain the surface topographic information of RD type silica gel which is then undergone by image processing to acquire information related to the pore size and its distribution. Meso pores are visualized and counted precisely in a small region after 2D Fast Fourier Transformation (2D FFT) process.
