Summary
The author presents a method of assessment for thermal comfort by developing a new thermal comfort index for hot climates. An instrumented test cell was used and a mathematical simulation model for thermal behaviour of a two-zone cell was developed. The experimental results obtained by use of the test cell enabled the model to be validated. One application of the model compared three types of wall using the new index: hollow perpend, dry bank and baked clay.
