Summary
Isothiazolone based biocide is widely applied with an excellent effect for cooling water treatment but it has the disadvantage of a strong irritative effect on human skin that requires special caution in handling. A new biocide consisting of an isothiazonlone clathrate compound is characterized as being very safe to handle while keeping a high biocidal effect. It is also very effective in preventing Legionella.
