Summary
The conventional triple-effect absorption chiller using the lithium bromide-based working fluid has been greatly hindered by the corrosion problem caused by high temperatures. Analysis based on optimization shows that it can notably reduce the highest temperature of the solution in the cycle to a value lower than 180 °C, and achieve a higher COP of 1.59. The COP of the new cycle increases with increasing temperature, and decreases with increasing compression ratio.
