Summary
Water losses due to dehydration during storage lead to quality downgrading of fruits. Shrinkage could be a criterion for the quality assessment during storage. The study aims to investigate behaviour of Pilafa Delicious, Granny Smith and Golden Delicious apples during storage in common warehouses (without refrigeration equipment). Comparisons are made between weight losses for different storage conditions: 10 °C, 65% relative humidity, 85% relative humidity, without refrigeration equipment, 0 °C, 90% relative humidity with refrigeration equipment. Different packagings are used. Comparative results are presented.
