Summary
Direct gas fuelled and hot water or steam operated absorption type fluid coolers can be applied as nonpolluting, cost efficient and flexible air conditioning of buildings. System engineering aspects of these types of coolers are discussed, with several examples. Combined systems of absorption-compression type fluid coolers are recommended. Economy and cost benefit considerations are also discussed. (See also IIR Bull. 98-4, ref. 98-2276).
