Summary
THE AUTHOR DESCRIBES A CALCULATION METHOD FOR HEAT FLOWS IN THE COOLING AND DRYING OF AIR WITH WATER-COOLED FINNED UNITS. BESIDES THE OPERATING CONDITIONS AND THE GEOMETRY OF THE UNIT, THIS METHOD REQUIRES ONLY TO KNOW SURFACE HEAT TRANSFER WITHOUT DEHUMIDIFICATION. AS SPECIFIC DATA ARE LACKING FOR THIS, A GENERAL EQUATION WAS SUCCESSFULLY USED FOR UNITS WITH STAGGERED TUBES AND CONTINUOUS FLAT FINS. THE RESULTS OBTAINED WITH A COMPUTING CODE WERE CONFIRMED BY TEST DATA.
