Behaviour of air filters with respect to micro-organisms in the air.

Comportement des filtres à air vis-à-vis des aérosols biologiques.

Author(s) : GINESTET A., MANN S.

Type of article: Article

Summary

Tests performed on new air filters used in general ventilating systems have shown that these filters are at least as effective in removing microorganisms as they are in removing inert particles of the same size. Release of microorganisms from the same type of naturally repaired films takes place essentially when the test rig is turned on and remains well below the concentrations of biological particles usually measured inside premises.
