Summary
MAGNETIC PROPERTIES OF A VERY THIN SUPERCONDUCTING CYLINDRICAL FILM AND OF A TWO-DIMENSIONAL SUPERCONDUCTOR OF A CYLINDRICAL FORM ARE STUDIED. AT TEMPERATURES BELOW THE KOSTERLITZ-THOULESS TRANSITION TEMPERATURE THE MAGNETIC MOMENT OF SUCH SYSTEMS OSCILLATES DEPENDENTLY ON THE MAGNETIC FIELD. IN A METASTABLE STATE THE MAGNETIC MOMENT OF THE CYLINDER MAY CONSIDERABLY EXCEED ITS EQUILIBRIUM VALUE. THIS EFFECT MAKES IT, IN PRINCIPLE, POSSIBLE TO DISCOVER SURFACE SUPERCONDUCTIVITY OF ELECTRONS ON THE TAMM LEVELS IN DIELECTRICS.
