Summary

TEMPERATURE DEPENDENCES OF FIELD OF FORMATION OF A ONE-DIMENSIONAL MIXED STATE ARE DETERMINED FOR THIN VANADIUM FILMS AT PARALLEL MAGNETIC FIELD. PHASE DIAGRAM OF THE FILMS IS STUDIED BY MEASURING TEMPERATURE AND FIELD DEPENDENCES OF CRITICAL CURRENT. FOR SAMPLES WITH ROUGH SURFACES, THE EXPERIMENTAL DATA ARE IN GOOD AGREEMENT WITH THEORETICAL ONES FOR FILMS WITH SMOOTH BOUNDARIES, THE VORTEX ENTRANCE IS INHIBITED BY A SURFACE BARRIER, AND THE CORRESPONDING FIELD IS APPRECIABLY HIGHER.
