SEED POTATO TUBERS WERE CUT BOTH BEFORE AND AFTER STORAGE AT 278 K (5 DEG C) FOR 42 DAYS. HEALING OCCURRED AT 293 K (20 DEG C) AT 75% RH IN 10-12 DAYS WITH FORCED AIR VENTILATION, AT 40 M3/H.T THE FIRST DAY AND 10 M3/H.T THEREAFTER. TREATMENT WITH BENOMYL REDUCED ROTTING. THE PRESPROUTING CONDITIONS [291 K (18 DEG C) AND 70% RH] PERMITTED THE GROWTH OF HEALTHY AND VIGOROUS SPROUTS.
