BUILDING ENERGY ANALYSIS WITH RESPONSE FACTOR AND WITH FREQUENCY DOMAIN METHODS.

Summary

THE PAPER COMPARES 2 APPROACHES TO BUILDING ENERGY ANALYSIS: THE FREQUENCY DOMAIN APPROACH, AND THE RESPONSE FACTOR MET THE FREQUENCY DOMAIN APPROACH CAN BE USED FOR ANALYSIS OF THE BUILDING THERMAL NETWORK THROUGHA STUDY OF ITS FREQUENCY DOMAIN TRANSFER FUNCTIONS, OR FOR SIMULATION USING DISCRETE FOURIER SERIES, WHILE THE RESPONSE FACTOR METHOD IS PRIMARILY A SIMULATION TOOL. TWO BUILDING ENERGY ANALYSIS PROGRAMS REPRESENTING THE 2 APPROACHES ARECOMPARED TOGETHER AND WITH EXPERIMENTAL DATA. BOTH WERE FOUND TO BE SUFFICIENT-LY ACCURATE FOR DESIGN.
