THE AUTHORS SOLVE ANALYTICALLY -IN A SIMPLIFIED CASE -THE EQUATIONS OF SIMULTANEOUS HEAT AND MASS TRANSFERS GOVERNING THE TEMPERATURE, CONCENTRATION AND PRESSURE DISTRIBUTIONS INSIDE A SPHERICAL SOLID ADSORBENT GRAIN SUBMITTED TO A PRESSURE STEP OF ADSORBABLE VAPOUR TAKING INTO ACCOUNT THE THERMAL EFFECTS ASSOCIATED TO THE ADSORPTION. THE RESULTS ARE CLOSE TO THOSE OBTAINED BY LEE AND RUTHVEN WHO USED ONLY THE MASS DIFFUSION INSIDE THE GRAIN, ASSUMING THAT THE TEMPERATURE IS UNIFORM INSIDE THE GRAIN.
