Summary
Multicomponent working fluids are useful in heat pump, refrigeration and power cycles whenever heat is transferred, not at a constant temperature, but within a temperature interval. Process calculations for mixed working fluids can be carried out completely with a generalized equation of state and information about the ideal gas heat capacity.
