Summary

One Primary goal of modern non-industrial buildings is to provide a safety, healthy, comfortable and efficient indoor environment for building occupants. This paper focuses on the relationship between HVAC systems and achievement of good indoor air quality (IAQ), Reasons why the design, installation, operation and maintenance of HVAC systems result in IAQ problems are discussed. Some measures are suggested to develop HVAC systems in accordance with ensuring good IAQ.
