CEN standard and comparison with implementation models in various countries.

Norme CEN et comparaison des modèles d'implémentation dans divers pays.

Author(s) : ADNOT J., DUPONT M.

Summary

Examination of the life cycle of an air-conditioning system shows that inspection can be a triggering process only if it takes into account the operating methods and contracts, and/or if it takes place within the framework of retrofitting with more efficient equipment. The draft standard CEN 15 240 set up to harmonize practices was focused on the inspection of maintenance and not directly on reduction of energy consumption. Each country seeks to position itself with respect to the CEN standard by selecting measures in the list provided by the standard and by using pre-existing measures. It is important to learn from initial experience in the field in order to define good implementation of compulsory French inspection. In the medium term, it will be above all necessary to develop the voluntary market for audits and improvement.
