Summary

This book, part of a series on "Progress in high temperature superconductivity", contains the proceedings of the XI Winter Meeting on "Low temperature physics", which was held in Cocoyoc, Morelos, Mexico, from 14 to 17 January, 1990. The interest in the field of high-critical temperature superconductors has been, in recent years, the driving power for intense theoretical and experimental research. The meeting was devoted to a review of recent theoretical developments, advances in the experimental search for the possible mechanisms involved in this phenomenon, in the characterization of these ceramic materials and aspects related with the search for new materials with even higher critical temperatures.
