Summary
THE DEFORMATION PROCESS OF COMPOSITE SUPERCONDUCTORS CARRYING CURRENT IN AN EXTERNAL MAGNETIC FIELD HAS BEEN STUDIED. IT IS SHOWN THAT PLASTIC DEFORMATION OF COMPOSITE CONDUCTORS UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS IS SERRATED AND DISCONTINUOUS IN NATURE. A THEORETICAL EXPLANATION IS PROPOSED FOR THE SERRATED NATURE OF PLASTIC DEFORMATION IN METALS, ALLOYS AND COMPOSITES AT LOW TEMPERATURES. THE INFLUENCE OF CONDUCTOR BENDING ON THE SERRATED EFFECT IS CONSIDERED. TWO TYPES OF NON-LINEAR WAVES ARE SHOWN TO EXIST IN COMPOSITE SUPERCONDUCTORS DURING THEIR PLASTIC DEFORMATION AT LOW TEMPERATURES.
