Summary

A compound parabolic collector with aperture area 2.0 m2 was used. Up to 1 kg of ice at an evaporator temperature of -6 deg C was produced, with the net solar COP being of the order of 0.02. Maximum receiver/adsorbent temperature recorded was 154 deg C on a day when the insolation was 26.8 megajoules/m2.
