Chilled water insulation systems analysis and workbook: the environmental dynamics and the solution.
Author(s) : SMOLENSKI C. P.
Type of article: Article
Summary
The paper provides a good résumé of the precautions to be taken for the insulation of cold pipes in general, and in particular those containing chilled water. All the physical phenomena involved are reviewed (air hygrometry, condensation, water vapour migration in the insulant, corrosion, etc). The main products are summarized (vapour barrier). All the physical characteristics of the main insulants are listed in tables. Glass fibre foam is recommended in particular.
