Mummified cooling pipes.

Summary

As practice has shown, it is very difficult to make cooling pipes completely vapour-proof. The reason is that vapour-proof materials prevent condensed water vapour from freely leaving the insulated system. This affects both the insulating capacity and the performance and efficiency of the refrigerating unit. A relatively new technique to insulate cooling pipes, the Hygrowick technique, is said to make self-drying systems possible and enables piping to be insulated with glass wool.
