Circulation of 2-ethyl-hexanol in an absorption chiller.

Author(s) : GHOSH K., ZHOU X., HEROLD K. E.

Summary

2-ethyl-hexanol is used in water-LiBr absorption machines, as a surfactant, thus enhancing the absorption process in the absorber. The paper investigates the circulation of that surfactant in all components of the circuit, in order to be able to predict the product concentration in the refrigerant between the evaporator and the absorber. A model is presented.
