Climatic conditions for Saudi Arabia.
Author(s) : SAID S. A. M., KADRY H. M., ISMAIL B. I.
Summary
The paper presents the climatic conditions for Saudi Arabia, including the monthly average ambient temperature, the values of cooling and heating degree-days for different base temperatures, and the winter and summer outdoor design conditions for 20 cities in Saudi Arabia. These cities are located in five different climatic zones. The data presented in the paper will be useful to the building design profession and to designers and manufacturers of heating, ventilating, air-conditioning and refrigerating equipment. It will also cover part of the present lack of information in ASHRAE Handbooks concerning degree-days and outdoor design conditions in Saudi Arabia.
