THE ARTICLE PRESENTS SOME THEORETICAL AND EXPERIMENTAL RESULTS CONCERNING PROBLEMS OF AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEMS IN PREMISES DEDICATED TO THE PRESERVATION OF MASTERPIECES. THE AUTHORS DESCRIBE A CALCULATION METHODOLOGY FOR THE ANALYSIS OF VARIATIONS OF THE AIR RELATIVE HUMIDITY, RESULTING FROM THE VAPOUR EXCHANGE PROCESSES BETWEEN AIR AND INDOOR STRUCTURES. THE THEORETICAL ANALYSIS CORRESPONDS WITH THE RESULTS OF A SERIESOF THERMOHYGROMETRIC MEASUREMENTS CARRIED OUT IN THE PREMISES OF THE PALAZZO SPINOLA MUSEUM IN GENA.
