COMETres: a predesign tool for the improvement of summer comfort.

Author(s) : MILLET J. R.

Summary

The model is based on a simplified thermal model giving both the indoor air and resultant temperatures and a reduced set of climatic data. The model parameters are calculated from simple building characteristics and operation data. The thermal model has been validated by comparing its results to the ones of detailed simulation tools. The tool is now available on a spreadsheet and will be extended to non residential buildings and evaporative cooling systems.
