Summary
Presents a new calculation procedure for crossflow, flat-plate heat exchangers. The finite element, computer-based method makes it possible to depict the effective temperature profile of both air streams. This allows the computation of the effective performance data which apply during practical operation. The reheat coefficient during condensation can be calculated on the basis of this temperature curve and the outlet conditions of the volumetric flows one and two can be shown precisely. A comparison of the calculation method with measured results shows good agreement.
