Condensation control for chilled ceilings and beams.

Author(s) : MARTIN A., ALAMDARI F.

Summary

The recent growth in the number of chilled ceiling installations has given rise to a number of methods of controlling the formation of condensation on them and their associated pipework. The selection of the optimum control strategy should be such that it does not allow undue development of condensation but, equally, should not unduly limit the cooling output from the ceiling. Laboratory based research was undertaken to determine the circumstances and extent to which condensation occurs, and the efficacy of various control strategies designed to prevent it.
