Construction and testing of a novel absorption-recompression system.
Author(s) : RIFFAT S. B., WONG C. W., SHANKLAND N. J.
Summary
The paper describes the development of a novel system based on the combination of a continuous absorption chiller with a vapour-recompression unit. A prototype system with a cooling capacity of 8 kW has been constructed and tested in the laboratory using the water-lithium bromide pair. Experimental results of the performance of the system were compared with predictions made using an in-house computer model.
