CONTROL OF A REFRIGERATION SYSTEM USING ANALYTICAL MODELS.

Summary

IN ORDER TO INVESTIGATE FURTHER THE ECONOMICS AND EFFICIENCY OF VARIOUS CAPACITY CONTROL SYSTEMS, A MATHEMATICAL MODEL HAS BEEN DEVELOPED FOR A SMALL RECIPROCATING-COMPRESSOR, WATER-CHILLING PLANT. A TEST RIG HAS BEEN INSTRUMENTED TO TEST THE ASSUMPTIONS MADE FOR THE MODEL AND REASONABLE COMPARISONS HAVE BEEN OBTAINED. THE CONTROL SYSTEMS AT PRESENT INCLUDE CYLINDER UNLOADING, COMPRESSOR SPEED CONTROL, AND HOT-GAS BYPASSING. SUCTION THROTTLING WILL BE ADDED. D.W.H.
