Summary

THIS ARTICLE TACKLES THE PROBLEM OF COMPRESSOR AND SYSTEM CONT ROL IN A VERY CLEAR MANNER. PARALLEL AND SERIES CHILLERS ARE COMPARED FOR CONTROL WATER TEMPERATURE OFFSET AND COMPRESSOR CYCLING TIME. PRIMARY-SECONDARY PUMPING SYSTEMS ARE SUGGESTED FOR LARGER CIRCUITS WHERE MULTIPLE COILS CAN BE FED IN PARALLEL AND CONTROLLED USING SINGLE PORT VALVES. IT IS SUGGESTED THAT THE FLOW OF WATER IN THE BYPASS LINE IN SUCH A SYSTEM CAN BE SENSED TO STOP AND START INDIVIDUAL CHILLER PUMPS. D.W.H.
