Cooling effect of greenery over a building.
Author(s) : TAKAKURA T., KITADE S., et al.
Type of article: Article
Summary
Reports investigation of the cooling effect of various kinds of plant cover using an experimental model and computer simulations. Temperature profiles, including air temperature in the air space beneath the roof, were measured. A computer model was used to simulate the systems and to evaluate cooling. Simulation results show a reasonable match with the measured results. The cooling effect was greater with increasing leaf area per unit roof area.
