Cooling storage for a country hospital.
Author(s) : MCGANN P.
Type of article: Article
Summary
The project involved the procurement of a new public hospital of 40 beds on a green-field site to serve the country town of Northam, 100 km northeast of Perth. The design incorporated ground chilled water storage using thermal stratification principles. The project has been constructed and in operation since April 1995. The storage tank is performing to expectation. The storage system is exceeding its expected returns. For larger projects the unit cost of above ground chilled water storage would decrease and returns should exceed those achieved on this project.
