COOLING TOWER SYSTEM INSTALLATION.

Author(s) : JOURDAN J.

Type of article: Article

Summary

MANY COOLING TOWER PROBLEMS ORIGINATE FROM BAD INSTALLATION TECHNIQUES. IN PARTICULAR, POOR PIPING DESIGN BETWEEN TOWER TRAY AND PUMPS CAN RESULT IN PUMP CAVITATION AND, IN MULTIPLE TOWERS, INBALANCE IN TRAY WATER BETWEEN RUNNING AND NON-RUNNING TOWERS. EXAMPLES ARE SHOWN WITH SUGGESTED DESIGN PRACTICE. OTHER PROBLEMS ARE ASSOCIATED WITH CONTROL, VARIABLEWATER FLOW BEING GENERALLY UNSUITABLE. VIBRATION ISOLATION IS NOT RECOMMENDED AND SHOULD BE UNNECESSARY. D.W.H.
