Summary
The article takes into consideration all parameters influencing the capacity and efficiency of air evaporating heat-pumps, mainly dwelling on two fundamental aspects: the influence of frost formation on the evaporating coils, depending either on relative humidity or on the coil sizing and the influence of defrosting logic utilized on the unit-microprocessor. Further to this analysis some tables containing the correction factors of nominal capacity and efficiency given by the manufacturers are supplied, and are needed to foresee the real heat-pump functioning in every working condition.
