Summary

Notes that the usual practice of assuming periodic outdoor conditions for calculating the transient wall heat flow in air conditioning load calculations leads to considerable errors in the case of a significant temporary deviation of the outdoor air temperature from periodicity. Develops a very simple correlation for calculating the increase of the maximum indoor heat flow X caused by a temporary rise in the outdoor air temperature in 15 typical wall instructions.
