Summary

A PORTION OF A HEAT PUMP SYSTEM COMPUTER PROGRAM CANBE USED TO MODEL AIR-TO-REFRIGERANT HEAT EXCHANGERS. USING THIS EVAPORATOR HEAT EXCHANGER MODEL, ONE CAN ITERATIVELY DETERMINE THE HEAT EXCHANGER CONFIGURATION REQUIRED FOR A GIVEN APPLICATION. BY COMBINING ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND THE EVAPORATOR COMPUTER MODEL, ONE CAN DETERMINE A HEAT EXCHANGER CONFIGURATION FASTER AND MORE ACCURATELY. THE PAPER DESCRIBES HOW TO INTEGRATE THE AIR-TO-REFRIGERANT HEAT EXCHANGER MODEL AND ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE USING A PROLOG KNOWLEDGE BASE. AN OVERVIEW OF PROLOG IS PRESENTED ALONG WITH AN EXAMPLE OF KNOWLEDGE CAPTURE.
